Michael Arevalo, Psy.D.
Mentor

Dr. Arevalo completed  his Psy.D. in clinical psychology at Marywood University. He is a licensed psychologist with a private practice in the Los Angeles area. Dr. Arevalo's clinical areas of interest include: depression, trauma, health psychology (sleep, pain, diabetes). 

Dr. Arevalo: "Very excited to serve as a mentor. Throughout my training, I've had incredible mentors who have helped with my training and professional development. I want to help facilitate that same professional growth within another student and help them establish their own professional identity."

Rashida Barner, Ph.D.
Mentor

Dr. Rashida Barner completed her Ph.D. in clinical child psychology at Southern Illinois University. Dr. Barner is a licensed psychologist in Maryland and is a psychologists in the Department of Neuropsychology Department at the Kennedy Krieger Institute.

David Brownstein, Psy.D.
Mentor

Dr. Brownstein is an alumnus of Marywood University's clinical psychology Psy.D. program. He is a licensed psychologist with a private practice in Las Vegas and an adjunct faculty member of the UNLV School of Medicine. He enjoys working with teens and adults and has a particular interest in the role of common/extra therapeutic factors on outcomes. Prior to entering the field of psychology, Dr. Brownstein taught a range of Judaic and secular subjects at Bais Menachem - Youth Development Program in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

Brooke J. Cannon, Ph.D.

Dr. Cannon is a Professor of Psychology and the Director of Clinical Training for Marywood University's Psy.D. program in clinical psychology. She completed her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at Binghamton University. Her interests include: neuropsychological assessment, traumatic brain injury, geropsychology, ethics, and psychology in film.

Dr. Cannon: "In addition to supporting underrepresented psychology students, I also enjoy working with White students and faculty who are striving to be allies and activists."

Tanisha Drummond, Psy.D.

Dr. Drummond is an alumna of Marywood University's Psy.D. program. Since 2015 Dr. Drummond has been a psychologist in the Department of Neuropsychology at the Kennedy Krieger Institute and maintains a private practice. Her areas of interest include: child and adolescent clinical psychology, mood disorders, disruptive behaviors and issues with conduct, anxiety disorders, learning issues, ADHD, and personality disorders.

Corinn A. Elmore, Ph.D.
Mentor

Dr. Elmore completed her Ph.D. in child clinical psychology at Loyola University Chicago. She works as a behavior consultant integrated within a pediatric primary care clinic at a large military hospital. Dr. Elmore's interests include:evidence-based therapy with special populations, African-American children and families, and racial identity and socialization.

Georica Gholson, Ph.D.
Mentor

Dr. Gholson received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Howard University. She is a licensed psychologist, working in a primary care clinic and in private practice. Dr. Gholson's clinical interests center on women's mental issues, trauma work, and health psychology. She also has a strong interest in feminism and intersectionality as it relates to psychology.

Shalena Heard, Ph.D.
Mentor

Dr. Heard completed her Ph.D. in counseling psychology at Lehigh University. She is a licensed psychologist in Maryland and certified as a National Health Service Psychologist and Approved Clinical Supervisor. Dr. Heard  is a psychologists in the Neuropsychology Department at the Kennedy Krieger Institute. She also is the owner of  Purposeful ACTS, LLC: Assessment, Consultation, and Training Services. Dr. Heard's interests include: children, adolescents, and young adults from underrepresented backgrounds.

Daniel Huy, Psy.D.
Mentor

Dr. Huy is a graduate of Marywood University's clinical psycohlogy Psy.D. program. He is a psychologist at the Integrated Center for Child Development. His interests include cognitive-behavioral and interpersonal psychotherapies for anxiety and mood disorders and  neuropsychological/psychological assessment.

Sally Morcos, Psy.D.
Mentor

Dr. Morcos is an alumna of Marywood University's Psy.D. program in clinical psychology. She is a licensed psychologist in New Jersey in independent practice and an examiner for the state disability office. Her areas of clinical interest include trauma, child abuse, and forensic psychology.

Deepa Patel, Psy.D.
Mentor

Dr. Patel completed her Psy.D. in clinical psychology at Marywood University. She is a psychology resident at The Anxiety and OCD Center in Malvern, PA. Her areas of interest include: eating disorders, trauma, personality disorders, and anxiety/OCD.

Lindsay Phillips, Psy.D.

Dr. Phillips is an assistant professor of psychology at Marywood University and core clinical faculty in the clinical psychology Psy.D. program. She completed her Psy.D. in clinical psychology at Chestnut Hill College. Dr. Phillips' interests include community integration and stigma and coping with reentry from prison to society.

Diljot Sachdeva, Psy.D.
Mentor

Dr. Sachdeva completed his Psy.D. in clinical psychology at Marywood University. He is a psychologist/multicultural specialist in the University Health and Counseling Services at Case Western University. his interests include: multicultural counseling, use of non-traditional counseling/assessment methods, retention of minority clients, self disclosure in therapy, effects of racial, social, physical, economical privilege in therapy, multicultural sensitivity and responsiveness, client mistrust of therapists, self cultural biases, acculturation adaption and use of sociopolitical history in therapy.

April Turner, Ph.D.
Mentor

Dr. Turner received her Ph.D. in school psychology from the University of Nebraska Lincoln. She currently works in the Baltimore area, providing services to K-8 public school students. Dr. Turner has  a particular interest in equity in schools.
